Ishami rishinzwe Kubungabunga Ururimi n’Umuco rifite intego yo kubungabunga no guteza imbere Ururimi rw’Ikinyarwanda, umuco w’u Rwanda n’indangagaciro zawo.
The Language and Culture Preservation Division has the mission of carrying out all activities related to the preservation to the preservation and promotion of Ikinyarwanda language, Rwandan culture and its values.
Its key responsibilities are:
To conduct and publish research in different fields of Ikinyarwanda and culture: lexicography, Terminology, Dictionaries, Grammar, Linguistics, Dialectology, Literature, Archeology, Anthropology, Tangible and Intangible heritage.
Prepare and organize seminars, workshops and conferences related to research in Language, Culture and heritage;
Ensure that research results are published and disseminated;
Provide advice on potentials existing in language, Culture and heritage to reinforce quality in the areas of research, protection and promotion;
Identify and promote the initiatives in the domain of Language, Culture and heritage.
Produce appropriate materials of sensitization to promote the use of Kinyarwanda and disseminate the Rwandan Cultural Values in Rwanda and abroad.
Carry out sensitization activities on correct use of Kinyarwanda and disseminate the Rwandan Cultural Values through different channels of communication: Radios, TVs, written Press, Electronic and Social media…;
Coordinate the organization of events and International days of Language and culture
Ensure that dialects of Kinyarwanda language are protected.
Develop strategies to promote Language industry in Rwanda
Digitalize Ikinyarwanda Language, Rwandan culture and Heritage contents;
